Lead is a slow-moving hazard that can cause long-term damage to workers and serious problems for employers if it is not controlled. Our Lead Awareness Training gives your team a clear picture of where lead shows up, how exposure actually occurs, and what practical steps keep everyone safer.
We walk workers and supervisors through common sources - paint, dust, demolition debris, cutting and sanding operations, and certain specialty materials. Using real examples, we show how simple tasks like sweeping, dry scraping, or using the wrong attachment on a tool can drive airborne levels up and contaminate surrounding areas.
From there, we focus on control. Crews learn proven methods for minimizing dust, using wet techniques and HEPA filtration, setting up containment, and handling debris and waste properly. We explain housekeeping, hygiene practices, and the importance of changing areas and handwashing in language people understand and will actually follow.
Supervisors receive an overview of regulatory requirements, medical surveillance triggers, and documentation expectations so they can spot when a project is drifting into higher-risk territory. That helps you plan ahead instead of reacting to a warning letter.
By the end of the session, your workforce knows how to recognize lead hazards early, protect themselves and their families from take-home exposure, and support your company's broader risk-reduction strategies. We can integrate this training with written procedures and broader construction or renovation safety programs so lead control becomes part of how you do business, not just another class.
